About Us

The Royal Canadian Legion is the largest of the veteran's organizations in Canada with over 300,000 members.

The Royal Canadian Legion is a non-profit, dues supported institution.

Our major responsibility is the perpetuation of "REMEMBRANCE". Through the Annual Poppy Campaign Canadians are reminded of the 117,000 men and women who gave their lives in the wars and military missions around the world.

Royal Canadian Legion, Stratford Branch 8 received its charter in October of 1926, opened as Loghrin Memorial Home. A tribute paid to a city councillor who lost his life in the Great War.

Branch 8 has been a leader in the community as we sponsor Seniors, community, youth, education (bursaries to the three high schools at commencement), sports (young and mature). We currently sponsor the 19 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets; an undertaking for over 50 years.

    R.C.L. Branch 8 Support & Assistance

    Branch 8 offers assistance, through the services of Veteran Affairs Canada, to eligible veterans, members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, their spouses, widows and dependents through the Poppy Fund.

    If you or someone you know needs help with benefits, services, housing, health care, navigating government programs, or dealing with homelessness or emergency situations the Legion’s service officers can assist.
